Football CO-op with
East Magnet

There has been a change regarding the options for cooperative agreements with MNPS schools. As you know, for the past several years, we have been in a cooperative agreement with West End for football. This year, MNPS has decided to realign the schools with which a cooperative agreement can be made. Therefore, we would like to share that we will now co-op with East Magnet Middle School. We are awaiting more information from East regarding the coach's name and contact information. Once we have that, we will be communicating to set up a time for the students interested in trying out to meet the coach.
Regarding transportation to East, if using WeGo, students can walk up N.7th St. to Gallatin Road.(there is a crossing guard there) and take #56 Gallatin Pike. It leaves at 3:11 p.m. and arrives at East at 3:14 p.m.
It is our goal to ensure we would have a team with which to participate, and we are fortunate to have an agreement with East Magnet Middle School for the upcoming school year.
We apologize for the change, but look forward to our new partnership.
More details to come.

SEL for PARENTS

SEL (Social Emotional Learning)
Having a growth mindset is essential for a successful life. According to Carol Dweck, "If parents want to give their children a gift, the best thing they can do is to teach their children to love challenges, be intrigued by mistakes, enjoy effort, and keep on learning." Go to the parent section of the "SEL at Meigs" website and read "Five Parenting Strategies to Develop a Growth Mindset" to learn more. (http://selatmeigs.weebly.com/for-parents.html) ---

TWOS-FAIRY GIVING PROJECT INSPIRES!

The Twos-Fairy giving project continues to pay it forward.
Among others, the project in Ms. Shaffer's class has inspired the Hillsboro Church of Christ to fill many more buckets along with others across Nashville in the Family Buckets for Ukraine. These efforts inspired from Ms. Shaffer's classes caught the eye of the Kelly Clarkson Show.  The Kelly Clarkson Show invited them to be spotlighted on March 24.  The Family Buckets for Ukraine received a  $10,000 donation from the show!  One small act can lead to so much more!  Click to visit Ms. Shaffer's site for more information!
