MEIGS MISSION

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Meigs Middle Magnet School is to provide a rigorous liberal arts curriculum that will allow our capable learners to perform at high standards of academic and social development.

Vision Statement: Our vision for Meigs Academic Magnet School is for all students to become successful life-long learners, creative thinkers, and responsible citizens in the global community.

At Meigs Middle Magnet Schools, we believe:
· Learning is our top priority.
· A safe, supportive learning environment is essential to the learning process.
· A variety of best teaching practices is needed to address diverse learning styles.
· Higher order thinking skills and communication of learning are important life skills for our learners.
· To accommodate different learning styles, a variety of assessment techniques and strategies should be used to determine student progress.
· Student learning is greatest when all stakeholders are cooperatively engaged.
· The school community should provide opportunities for students to develop skills in areas of leadership, community service, the arts, the sciences, languages, athletics, and responsible citizenship.
